Information for literary agents

At Spring Street Books, we believe in empowering authors and providing them with the opportunity to take control of their publishing journey. To maintain an agile and efficient process, we prefer to contract directly with authors whenever possible.

By working directly with Spring Street Books, authors can benefit from a streamlined publication process and a higher share of royalties. As a digital-first publisher, our focus is on bringing your work to market quickly and efficiently, without the need for a traditional upfront advance.

We understand that navigating the complex world of publishing can be challenging, and that’s where literary agents come in. Agents provide invaluable expertise and guidance, helping authors make informed decisions and seize opportunities to build a long-lasting career in publishing.

However, we also recognize that not all authors have the means or desire to work with an agent, especially when just starting out. By contracting directly with Spring Street Books, you can retain a greater degree of control over your work and your earnings.

That being said, we warmly welcome submissions from literary agents. We appreciate the vital role they play in nurturing talent, negotiating contracts, and maximizing an author’s potential. If you choose to work with an agent, please keep in mind that they will take a percentage of your royalties as commission for their services.

At Spring Street Books, we strive to offer a flexible and author-centric approach to publishing. Whether you choose to submit your work directly or through an agent, we are committed to providing a supportive and collaborative environment where your voice can be heard, and your stories can flourish.

If you have any questions about our submission process or would like to discuss your project further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to the opportunity to bring your words to life and help you achieve your publishing goals.
